Most people think learning AI requires:
$1,000 courses.
Bootcamps.
Certificates.
Some “AI guru” selling a roadmap.
It doesn’t.
We’re living through the first moment in history where the best technical education in the world is basically free.
And most people still underestimate it.
YouTube has quietly become the largest AI university on the planet.
Not theory.
Actual builders.
Researchers.
Engineers.
Founders.
Operators.
Explaining what’s happening in real time.
If I were starting from zero today, I’d spend less time buying courses…
…and more time studying people who are actually building the future.
Channels like:
→ DeepLearning.AI
→ Lex Fridman
→ Yannic Kilcher
→ Sentdex
→ Two Minute Papers
→ StatQuest
→ Murtaza’s Workshop
→ AI Explained
→ Computerphile
are better than most paid programs.
Because they teach:
– how models work
– how AI systems are built
– where the industry is moving
– how real people are using the tools
Not just how to generate another ChatGPT prompt.
And here’s the bigger point:
The advantage is no longer access to information.
Everyone has access now.
The advantage is:
Consistency.
Actually learning.
Actually experimenting.
Actually building.
Most people consume AI content like entertainment.
A smaller group uses it to change how they work.
That group compounds fast.
Also:
You do NOT need to become an ML researcher to benefit from AI.
You just need enough understanding to:
– think clearly about systems
– use the tools well
– adapt faster than average
That alone already puts you ahead of most people.
Reality check:
AI probably won’t replace you directly.
But someone who understands AI better than you might.
And that gap is growing faster than people realize.
The good news?
The barrier to entry has never been lower.
A laptop.
Curiosity.
Consistency.
That’s enough to start.
