From “toxic legacy” to $27B deals.
Nebius is scaling fast – but to earn trust is a bit different story.
Nebius (ex-Yandex N.V.) just signed a $27B AI infrastructure deal with Meta.
Add Microsoft (~$17B) and NVIDIA ($2B), and you get a company moving very quickly into the global AI stack.
Impressive? Yes.
Simple? Not really.
Its not like regular big business growth.
It’s an attempt to reposition a previously токсичный (toxic) asset into global infrastructure.
And that’s where questions start.
Building AI infra at this scale means:
→ you don’t just sell compute
→ you shape systems, access, and power
So you need to be very sure the company follows human-centric ethical standards – and hasn’t carried over questionable practices from where it originated.
Personally, I’m not fully convinced yet as I followed the story for decades.
But then again… how many large tech companies actually pass that human first test? 🤔
