Automation does not remove the judgment call
More agents do not remove product judgment. They move the critical decisions further upstream, where founders must validate assumptions.

What strikes me is not the scale. Scale is expected by now. What strikes me is how little the underlying job has changed. Someone still has to decide what is worth building, what the agents should not be trusted with, and when a system that looks impressive is solving the wrong problem without notification. More automation does not remove that judgment call. It just moves it further upstream, to people who now have far less visibility into the details underneath.
I keep meeting founders who bolt agent after agent onto a product before anyone has confirmed the product itself is wanted. The stack gets more sophisticated while the actual question - does this solve something real? - stays unanswered.
Before you scale the engineering, it’s worth checking the assumption underneath it.
